Film launch: 'The man who mends women - The wrath of Hippocrates'

Join the ISS and UN Women as we screen this acclaimed film about Dr Denis Mukwege, known worldwide for treating thousands of DRC rape victims.

Seats are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis.

In support of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon’s ‘UNiTE to End Violence against Women’ campaign and South Africa’s 16 days of activism against gender-based violence, the Institute for Security Studies, in partnership with UN Women, will host the first screening in South Africa of the acclaimed film ‘The Man Who Mends Women: The wrath of Hippocrates' about Congolese gynaecological surgeon Dr Denis Mukwege.

Winner of the Sakharov Prize 2014, Dr Mukwege is internationally known as the man who mends thousands of women who have been raped during the 20 years of conflicts in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Dress Code: Wear orange in support of ending violence against women.
