Dealing with elections in SADC

This seminar debates SADC’s role in ensuring fair elections in Zimbabwe and Mozambique, and lessons for the future.

Mozambique is heading for crucial elections on 15 October. Meanwhile Zimbabwe is still struggling with the aftermath of its highly contested polls in July 2018. This seminar on the sidelines of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) summit in Dar es Salaam will look at the upcoming polls in Mozambique. Will they be free and fair? What role should SADC play in elections in the region and what lessons can be learnt for the future?
