Police stats show falls in some major crimes
Mercury... The number of murders, which peaked in the 1995/96 financial year at 26 877, dropped 30% to 18 793 in 2004/05, according to an analysis of national crime statistics by Institute for Security Studies researcher

ISS Today, 29 MarchA series of five blasts killed one person and injured at least 14 others in Addis Ababa on Monday, the first fatality in a string of mysterious explosions in the Ethiopian capital.
