More money doesn’t help justice system - survey

Higher spending on the criminal justice system, compared to the rest of the world, did not reduce workloads, a researcher said on Wednesday. SA spent 2.7% of its gross domestic product (GDP) on criminal justice in 1997/98, growing to 3.1% in 2004/05, Institute for Security Studies researcher Antony Altbeker told a Pretoria seminar.
