The ISS and the Global Center sign agreement to facilitate coordination and cooperation

The ISS and the Global Center on Cooperative Security sign an MoU to strengthen their mutual goal of promoting human security and international cooper

On 17 April 2014, the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and the Global Center on Cooperative Security signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to continue their close and longstanding cooperative relationship, spanning the last eight years. The MoU, signed by the Managing Director of the ISS, Anton du Plessis and the Global Center’s Executive Director, Alistair Millar, articulates a series of principles to guide and deepen that relationship.

In particular, the MoU is intended to facilitate coordination and cooperation on joint projects, as well as the pooling of relevant staff expertise and other resources. The agreement is based on mutual respect and understanding of the individual strengths, mandates and institutional capacities of the Global Center and the ISS.

The ISS and the Global Center are committed to the promotion of international security and by strengthening their ties, the MoU will help to further this goal. Both organisations also work to enhance human security and international cooperation. This agreement will strengthen collaboration between the ISS and the Global Centre and enhance the ability of both organisations to achieve their respective missions and visions.

The MoU was signed at the Global Center’s offices in Washington DC, USA.
